About the Author

Dr. Michael G. Semon spent his life as a marriage and family therapist. For more than forty years he sat with couples, pastors, leaders, and families who were sure the problem was the other person. It never was.

His work brings together family systems theory and the Christian faith. All of it rests on one verse: whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Christ will find it. That single paradox became the heart of everything he teaches.

He is the author of the Paradox Series, a full library of books on Christian growth. Response is Book Two, where the work gets done.

His own life taught him what he writes about. He lost his first wife, Marsha, when she was fifty-three. Years later he married Nancy, and with her he learned that new life is real. He has two children and lives by one simple conviction.
