About the Author

Dr. Michael G. Semon has spent more than forty years as a licensed marriage and family therapist. He sat with thousands of people: individuals, couples, families, and in time pastors and whole churches. Under a hundred different problems, he kept finding the same one. The things we want most, and work hardest to get, are the things we can only receive.

His work brings together family systems theory, individuation, and spiritual formation. It all rests on one verse, Matthew 16:25. He is not writing from theory. He is writing from what he has lived.
